Climate Change is Caused by 4% of the Ozone Layer Being Gone!
Have you noticed how weird the weather has been lately? Some days it's super warm and the next you're a human icicle? This is because of climate change, which is caused by the ozone layer, which keeps certain temperatures out of our atmosphere, being ripped. Since it's ripped, we get extra hot air from the sun and extra cold air from space.
We need to fix the rip so that climate change stops. It's melting all the ice in the arctic, leaving polar bears and penguins stranded on icebergs that melted off of glaciers. It's making it snow in Mexico, even though it hasn't snowed in Mexico City since 1967!
Since the glaciers and icebergs are all melting, the tsunami and flood rates are soaring. The tides are rising and big glaciers melting off a different part could create a big enough wave to destroy a city.
These things are not okay. We need to fix them as soon as possible, meaning we need to fix the ozone layer. If we stop polluting the air, the ozone layer will repair itself. Right now it is actually repairing itself, it always is, but we are breaking it faster than it can repair itself now. Quarantine has been good for the ozone layer, since way less cars were used because we had no need to go anywhere. The hole repaired some edges during quarantine, mostly the beginning six months. But now that we're back to business, it's breaking again.
Air pollution is caused by smoking, car smoke, factory smoke, basically any kind of smoke. I have plans for writing another blog post focusing on air pollution, so I'm not going to include too much about it here.
Following this are some solutions that you could do to try to fix the ozone layer which will stop climate change.
- Carpool, bike, or walk more often. Every carpool is good for the environment, but it's even better to bike or walk. But sometimes it would be to far to walk or bike to your destination, so if that happens then try your best to carpool. It's the next best thing. Also, I know it's hard to carpool during the COVID-19 pandemic, but this solution is mostly for after. Don't carpool if it'll make you sick!
- Don't smoke. I don't understand why people still smoke! It's bad for the environment and ozone layer, but most of all for you! The news came out in the 1940's that smoking was bad, so all the people who were addicted are probably already dead! That means that some people began smoking after the news came out, knowing it was bad for them. Just don't try it. Don't say 'it'll only be once.' It won't.
- Buy less products from factories that produce smoke. If less people buy from them, eventually they will have to shut down and then they will no longer produce smoke.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read my blog. Please share my blog with your friends and maybe try some of the solutions. Together, we can change the world.
